Currency: It does the date math
RotorLog checks your takeoffs, landings and approaches against the rolling windows and tells you exactly where you stand, plus what it takes to get a lapsed currency back. The rules are configurable, so stricter company minimums fit too.

FAQ: Good questions, clear answers
Does RotorLog work for FAA and EASA logging?
Yes. Flights carry the fields both systems expect: PIC, SIC, dual and instructor time, day and night takeoffs and landings with full-stops, instrument approaches and holds, and aircraft with ICAO type designators. PDF exports come in EASA Part-FCL and FAA styles, and the currency rules default to the FAA §61.57 windows but can be adjusted to your company's minimums.
I've been flying for years. How does my old logbook get in?
With AI import. Photograph the paper pages, select up to 20 photos, or upload a CSV, Excel or PDF export from another logbook app. Every imported flight gets a review step with confidence flags and duplicate detection before anything is saved. The first full import is free, so you can judge the results on your own logbook.
Can I get my data out again?
Always. Export your logbook as PDF or Excel, and make a complete CSV backup that RotorLog itself can re-import. That backup also runs on a schedule on its own. Your logbook is yours, and there is no lock-in.
Which devices does it run on?
There are apps for iPhone, iPad and Mac from the App Store, an Android app from Google Play and a Windows desktop app, plus the web app at rotorlog.com/app in any browser. One account works on every device you own, with no device limit: log a flight on your iPhone in the aircraft, and it's on your iPad and the web by the time you land.
Does it work offline?
Yes. RotorLog is offline-first: log flights anywhere, and they sync when you're back online. The sync status of every record is visible in the app.
Does RotorLog track duty and rest?
Yes. Duty and rest are tracked alongside your flights: rolling 7 and 28 day windows, whether you are on duty now, and the rest before your next report time. Six built-in reference profiles are labelled by authority, from FAA 135.267 to EASA ORO.FTL and UK CAP 371, and you can adjust any of them to your operator's scheme. It is advisory: RotorLog flags problems early but does not certify legal compliance.
Can I share my logbook with an employer or examiner?
Yes, without giving anything up. A share link sends a masked, read-only copy to anyone, protected by a password, an expiry date and a view limit, and you can revoke it anytime. Verifications go further: an instructor or examiner can vouch for a flight, and if that flight is ever edited afterwards, the verification shows as out of date. Signatures and exact coordinates never leave your account.
How is my account protected?
Two-factor authentication, passkey sign-in on the web, and a devices screen where you can see every signed-in session and end any of them. Your logbook is also backed up to a complete CSV automatically every 7 days, and you can export everything yourself at any moment.
What's free and what's paid?
The free app is a preview: you can explore every screen, run one full logbook import, and ask the AI three questions a month. RotorLog Pro unlocks logging, exports and everything else, either as a monthly or annual subscription (each with a 3-day free trial) or as a one-time lifetime purchase. What is RotorLog AI, and do I need it?
A separate, optional monthly add-on for the AI features: 50 “Ask your logbook” questions, 5 full imports, and 30 single-flight scans per month. The logbook itself never needs it, and Pro is complete without AI.
Why isn't RotorLog AI part of Pro?
The AI features run on paid third-party models, and every question you ask and every page you import costs real money to process. RotorLog AI is priced to cover those running costs, not to turn a profit. Every account, free or Pro, gets a taste of it, with three questions a month and one full import, and RotorLog AI raises those limits for the pilots who lean on it.
Where do I buy a plan?
Wherever suits you. On iPhone, iPad and Mac you subscribe through the App Store; on the web and in the Windows app you subscribe securely by card. The Android app does not sell subscriptions, but Pro bought anywhere else unlocks in it automatically. You can change or cancel your plan anytime from your account.
